By enabling direct, value-aligned interactions between users and enterprises, Scannit offers a sustainable, ethical alternative to legacy data systems.

### The AI Data Crisis: A $47B Opportunity

AI progress is constrained by data scarcity, bias, and provenance risk. Labeling pipelines are costly and inconsistent; synthetic data can’t replace real-world nuance. Meanwhile, Web2 platforms extract value from users’ data with forced consent and zero transparency. Analysts project external training-data spend to exceed **$47B by 2030**, underscoring the gap between demand and dependable supply. Scannit addresses this with a transparent, incentive-aligned marketplace where each contribution is an explicit, priced opt-in.

#### **Structural Pain Points**

* **Data scarcity**. More than 80 percent of AI programs stall or underperform due to limited volume, poor quality, or skewed representation in available datasets.
* **Synthetic substitution risk**. Enterprises increasingly generate artificial records to bypass privacy and cost barriers, sacrificing real‑world nuance and model generalization.
* **Opaque sourcing and bias**. Many large‑scale datasets lack clear provenance, embedding unknown legal and ethical liabilities as well as systemic bias.
* **Broken labelling workflows**. Conventional annotation pipelines rely on low‑paid crowd labor or expensive in‑house teams, producing inconsistent quality at unsustainable cost.

#### **Scannit’s Answer**

Scannit routes these bottlenecks through a **transparent, incentive-aligned marketplace** that converts day‑to‑day user actions into **permissioned, well‑labelled data assets**. Contributors receive direct **compensation**, while enterprises obtain traceable, regulation‑ready inputs for model training, market research, and product optimization.

# The Current Landscape

### The Current Landscape: Exploitation by Design

Personal data has become the core asset of the digital economy, yet individuals hold minimal control over its capture and monetization. Dominant platforms harvest vast stores of behavioral, financial, and biometric information, converting it into advertising and product revenue while offering little beyond complimentary access in return.

#### **Structural Failures of the Centralized Model**

* **Zero transparency**: Users have little visibility into where their data goes, how it's used, or who profits from it.
* **Forced consent**. Privacy policies remain buried in dense legal text. Agreements are accepted out of necessity, not empowerment.
* **Uncompensated value extraction**: Trillions in economic value is generated from user data, yet individuals see none of it.
* **High risk, no reward**: Centralized databases are constant targets. In 2022, over **400 million personal records** were compromised in nearly **1,800 data breaches** including Uber, T-Mobile, and others ([Statista](https://www.statista.com/statistics/1307426/number-of-data-breaches-worldwide/)).

This system leaves users exposed, exploited, and excluded, all while their data trains AI models, shapes product design, and fuels digital advertising systems they have no stake in.

As awareness grows around privacy, AI bias, and digital exploitation, a new paradigm is urgently needed. One where users are empowered participants, not passive products.

<figure><img src="https://2543732543-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F8uZwPVRGLnusKYVMRvZq%2Fuploads%2F54wxZ6Ec2n00zsKqMVTR%2FChatGPT%20Image%201.%20Mai%202025%2C%2017_55_23.png?alt=media&amp;token=ef4357a6-1be9-4f4d-8b9b-369eadf1ff5b" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Why Change Is Urgent

Without a shift in how data is collected and valued, the system will continue to erode privacy, increase security risks, and consolidate power in the hands of a few corporations. Users will remain vulnerable, their information traded, their digital identities exploited, and their influence diminished.

#### The Case for Scannit

Scannit re‑centers control with the contributor. Instead of extracting value from people, the platform enables value with people, creating a decentralized, transparent, and user‑centric data economy where rights, rewards, and responsibility are realigned.

# The Solution - Scannit Network

Scannit delivers a modular ecosystem that aligns the interests of individual contributors and enterprise data consumers. The platform combines intuitive micro‑interactions with rigorous validation, creating a transparent pipeline from data capture to utilization.

### Core Components of the Scannit Network:

**Questboard (Data Collection Layer)**

* A gamified interface where users complete simple tasks (e.g., selfies, voice recordings, gestures, receipt scans) that generate valuable real-world data to power AI and robotics systems.

**Data Buyers & Developers**

* Companies and researchers seeking high-quality, user-consented data, with guaranteed provenance and ethical sourcing for training AI, market analysis, or product development.

**Quest creation & data buyer portal**

* **Phase 1**. Scannit’s internal data operations team designs and publishes quests based on enterprise demand.
* **Phase 2 (roadmap)**. A self‑service web console will allow companies, researchers, and other stakeholders to launch quests or submit labeling and validation jobs. The portal enforces tiered quality gates, provides real‑time KPI dashboards, and records consent and usage rights on‑chain.

### Built-In Quality Control

Scannit embeds multilayer safeguards to ensure trust and precision before any reward is issued or dataset released.

* **Anomaly detection.** Machine‑learning models flag suspicious patterns, including synthetic submissions and bot activity.
* **Fraud prevention.** Each contribution undergoes authenticity checks, from purchase‑receipt verification to biometric consistency reviews.
* **KYC‑lite validation.** Optional account linking (for example, an Open Banking connection) increases contributor credibility without exposing excess personal information.
* **Peer consensus review.** For selected quests, the system runs a two-step check: our AI pass produces an initial label, then a rotating pool of contributors reviews a random slice. Human reviewers confirm or overrule the AI; majority agreement locks the record, while mismatches route it back to the uploader for correction.
* **Expertise credentialing.** Optional verification of professional or academic credentials enables assignment of specialized, higher‑value quests while preserving personal privacy.

#### **Confidence score**&#x20;

Every contributor has a dynamic confidence score.

* **Positive signals**; verified quest completions and clean peer reviews, push the score up.
* **Negative signals**; failed validations or ML-flagged anomalies, pull it down.<br>

**Example**: A user submits ten receipt scans; all pass validation and peer spot-checks, nudging their score high enough to unlock premium quests that pay f. ex. 30 % more. Later, one mislabeled upload is flagged; the score dips, limiting access to these tasks until the user’s next verified submissions restore it.

The exact weighting formula remains undisclosed, but the principle is clear: consistent quality expands earning opportunities, while errors temporarily narrow them.

### The Roadmap to AI-Driven Autonomy

Scannit will roll out functionality in carefully staged increments, ensuring stability and quality at each step.

<table><thead><tr><th width="119.4765625">Timeline</th><th width="187.8671875">Milestone</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Q3 2025</strong></td><td>Public app launch</td><td><strong>Quest‑based rewards</strong> system is live for iOS and Android. Initial quest catalog curated by Scannit’s internal team.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Q4  2025</strong></td><td>Testnet Release</td><td>Testnet release with $tSCAN: validating quests and network infrastructure at scale in a near-production environment.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Q1 2026</strong></td><td>Self‑service quest portal (beta)</td><td>Selected enterprise partners gain the ability to design and deploy quests through a web console with built‑in quality gates.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Q3 2026</strong></td><td>Decentralized storage integration (alpha)</td><td>Initial support for user‑owned data hosting via Solid Pods and Filecoin, maintaining existing consent controls.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Q4 2026</strong></td><td>Automation and analytics backend</td><td>Rule‑based data packaging, delivery automation, and opt‑in AI‑driven optimization. Focus remains on back‑end efficiency rather than user‑facing agents.</td></tr></tbody></table>

This phased approach prioritizes immediate user value with the quest‑based model, while laying the groundwork for enterprise scalability, advanced contributor matching, and decentralized governance.

Growth starts with two reinforcing actions: onboarding contributors who supply high-quality, permissioned data, and onboarding enterprises that purchase it. Each completed quest increases the data pool; each satisfied buyer funds new quests, raising contributor earnings. $SCAN rewards ignite this loop and, over time, self-sustain demand for the token.<br>

# Illustrative User Journeys

How a single data request moves from boardroom concept to model improvement and contributor reward.

To ground the architecture in real-world activity, the following parallel narratives trace the same “Left-Hand Interaction” quest from the moment an enterprise defines the need to the moment a contributor earns $SCAN and sees tangible impact.

### Enterprise Journey – “Left-Hand Interaction” Quest

A robotics company turns a hard bias problem into a one-week data sprint.

<table><thead><tr><th width="120.26171875">Phase</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>1. Identify the gap</strong></td><td>Lumina Robotics confirms that its vision model misclassifies scenes featuring left-handed grasps. Internal analysis shows the public web offers too few left-hand examples to correct the bias.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>2. Design the quest</strong></td><td>In Scannit’s portal the team launches “Show us your left hand,” requesting three-second phone videos of common objects lifted with the left hand. Clip specs, reward of 20 $SCAN, and total budget are set in a guided form.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>3. Activate the network</strong></td><td>The quest card appears in contributor feeds worldwide. Thousands of participants capture diverse clips in kitchens, cafés, and offices, rapidly filling the volume target with real-world variety.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>4. Receive the dataset</strong></td><td>When the quota and quality thresholds are reached, Scannit delivers MP4 files, JSON labels, and a full provenance log through an API endpoint. Compliance documentation is bundled automatically.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>5. Measure the impact</strong></td><td>Retraining with the new footage lifts left-hand grasp recognition by double digits. Marketing highlights the upgrade in the next release, and the data team earmarks Scannit for future bias-reduction tasks.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Contributor Journey – Earning Through the Same Quest

A single user turns an everyday gesture into rewards and recognition.

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="125.23046875">Phase</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>1. Discover the quest</strong></td><td>Scrolling the Questboard, the contributor spots “Show us your left hand,” marked with a premium payout and a short example clip. The task is clear and the reward is visible in both $SCAN and fiat terms.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>2. Qualify</strong></td><td>A one-time micro-test asks the user to hold a pen in the left hand for two seconds. Passing the test unlocks the main quest and tags the profile as “Dexterity verified.”</td></tr><tr><td><strong>3. Capture the clip</strong></td><td>In the kitchen the user records a three-second video lifting a coffee mug with the left hand. Real-time feedback confirms framing and lighting before accepting the upload.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>4. Collect the reward</strong></td><td>Minutes later the submission passes validation and 20 $SCAN appear in the in-app wallet. A notification invites the contributor to repeat the quest with different objects for additional earnings.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>5. See the impact</strong></td><td>The dashboard later shows that Lumina Robotics purchased the dataset and that the clips helped cut grasp errors. A “Bias-buster contributor” badge unlocks access to upcoming high-value quests.</td></tr></tbody></table>

These mirrored journeys demonstrate Scannit’s core promise: precise enterprise data needs are met through transparent, well-paid micro-interactions, aligning incentives for both sides of the marketplace.

### User Choice & Data Economics

From passive data exhaust to a marketplace where every contribution is a conscious, priced decision.

Scannit does not ask contributors to trust a black-box “privacy layer.” Instead, the platform makes every data exchange an explicit, priced opt-in. Contributors see what a quest requests, what it pays, and decide. Nothing more, nothing less.

<table><thead><tr><th width="143.24609375">Pillar</th><th>How it works in Scannit</th><th>Benefit to the contributor</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Action-based consent</td><td>Data enters the system only when a user completes the task. No background scraping, no hidden trackers.</td><td>Participation stays intentional; digital life outside accepted quests remains untouched.</td></tr><tr><td>Up-front pricing</td><td>Each quest card displays a reward in points and after TGE directly in $SCAN. </td><td>Contributors learn the real market worth of their photos, receipts, or voice clips, passively educating themselves on data value over time.</td></tr><tr><td>Granular toggles, not blanket settings</td><td>Users can accept some quest types (e.g., receipts) and skip others (e.g., voice). Preferences are stored and surfaced when new quests launch.</td><td>Data sharing becomes a per-asset, effort-vs-payout decision rather than an all-or-nothing privacy checkbox.</td></tr><tr><td>Quality = higher earnings</td><td>A confidence score and optional credential badges (e.g., “Dexterity verified,” “Nutritionist certified”) unlock premium quests with better payouts.</td><td>Skill and reliability translate directly into income, mirroring real-world labor markets.</td></tr><tr><td>Voice in network rules</td><td>Token-weighted voting lets contributors approve fee tiers, quest-quality standards, and treasury grants, delegatable for those who prefer to stay hands-off.</td><td>Economic upside is paired with governance influence, aligning long-term interests.</td></tr></tbody></table>

By centering choice, price transparency, and progressive earning potential, Scannit replaces the opaque, passive data harvesting of Web 2.0 with a clear-sighted marketplace where individuals trade information on terms they set themselves.

# Intuitive Visual Digital Avatar (IVDA)

The Intuitive Visual Digital Avatar (IVDA) is a core component of the Scannit ecosystem, designed to revolutionize the way users interact with and manage their digital data. The IVDA is a visual representation of a user's digital identity, serving as a tool that provides clarity and control over the vast amounts of data they generate. Unlike traditional data management systems, which are often complex and opaque, the IVDA aims to simplify this process by making the user's data tangible and easily understandable.

<figure><img src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/docsz/AD_4nXd6_cbhEpf5mULgu-kDYxrMC5KHtWSzGALaa5i-1jFGYi6llSuDWzBugZzClY018LqQu1pNwc7DDfPwMNXvBJy3CsKybPgOOyB4rOjylz0xy4qwo5H2e5rENgO5QWU3iJr6dmBSztu5STfsimvsI3Xfzw9b?key=FuR_nj7kh4txELeXjfioZw" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Key Features of the IVDA:

1. Transparency: The IVDA offers a clear and intuitive way for users to see what data is being collected by them, how it is being used, and who has access to it. This transparency is crucial in helping users regain control over their digital identities, as it demystifies the often complex processes involved in data handling.
2. Control: Beyond just understanding their data, the IVDA allows users to actively manage it. They can specify which entities have access to their data, set permissions, and make informed decisions about what data they want to share and what they want to keep private. This level of control is unprecedented in most current data ecosystems.
3. Personalization: The IVDA is not a one-size-fits-all tool. It is designed to be personalized, reflecting the unique digital footprint of each user. This personalization ensures that users can engage with their data in a way that feels relevant and useful to them.
4. Data Ownership: One of the IVDA's primary goals is to return ownership of data to the user. In an environment where data is often harvested and used without explicit user consent, the IVDA empowers users by giving them the ability to claim and manage their data, ensuring that any value derived from it benefits them directly.

#### The Broader Impact:

The introduction of the IVDA into the Scannit ecosystem is part of a larger vision to create a more equitable digital landscape. By providing users with tools like the IVDA, Scannit is aiming to shift the balance of power in the digital economy, allowing individuals to take an active role in how their data is used and monetized. This not only benefits users but also encourages the development of a more transparent and user-friendly data ecosystem.

# True Ownership

## What is True Ownership?&#x20;

True ownership goes beyond simply holding legal rights to your data. It means having the ability to fully control how your data is used and complete visibility into its journey within an ecosystem. For ownership to be meaningful, it must empower users with both **control** and **transparency** over their personal information.

### **Control:**

**Data Management:** Users have the ability to fully manage their data, including the power to delete it at any time. This means that users can choose to share or withhold their data, and they can determine which subsets of their data are shared and under what conditions. This level of control ensures that users are always in charge of their digital identity and how it is used.

**Selective Sharing:** Scannit allows users to specify which parts of their data can be accessed by others. For instance, users can opt to share only certain types of data or allow access to specific data sets only under particular conditions. This granular control over data sharing is a key aspect of true ownership.

### **Transparency:**

**Data Usage Visibility**: Users are provided with a clear, understandable view of how their data is being used, who has access to it, and for what purpose. Scannit’s AI Agent will offer a visual representation of the user’s data, making it easier for them to track and manage their digital footprint.

**Value Awareness:** Scannit offers users insights into the potential value of their data. Even if users choose not to share their data, they are kept informed about how much similar data is worth in the market. This transparency empowers users to make informed decisions about when and how to share their data, ensuring they are fully aware of the potential benefits.

By providing both control and transparency, Scannit ensures that users truly own their data in every sense. This approach not only empowers users but also builds trust within the ecosystem, as individuals can see and control the value and use of their personal information.

### &#x20;**Community Governed**

The governance of Scannit is community-driven, with $SCAN token holders empowered to create and vote on proposals that shape the network's future. These proposals, known as Scannit Improvement Proposals (SIPs), can influence everything from how data security measures are implemented to the introduction of new features that enhance user experience. This democratic approach ensures that the platform evolves in a way that reflects the collective interests of its community, rather than the whims of a central authority.

There are no self-imposed restrictions on what the Scannit community is able to vote on and do. We expect that some key activities will include:

1. Designing, deploying, and adjusting rewards pools for users and referral bonus programs
2. Allocating authority and resources to teams and individuals via f. ex.[ streams](https://www.superfluid.finance/home), grants, and bounties. This may fund work such as: building decentralized data storage infrastructure; determining the optimal method by which consumer data will be priced and sold; building applications on top of Scannit.
3. Investing the treasury.

### **Aligning Incentives**

By aligning the interests of users, developers, and data buyers around the $SCAN token, Scannit fosters a collaborative environment where all stakeholders are incentivized to contribute to the platform's growth. This not only accelerates innovation but also ensures that the value created within the ecosystem is equitably distributed among those who help generate it.

In summary, Scannit is more than just another app; it is a decentralized, user-owned ecosystem designed to empower individuals by giving them full control over their digital identities and the data they generate. Through active participation and governance, users can help shape a fairer, more transparent digital future.

# Get Involved

Scannit welcomes three distinct stakeholder groups, each advancing the network’s data-marketplace flywheel.

<table><thead><tr><th width="126.3359375">Role</th><th>Primary benefit</th><th>Point of entry</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Contributors (individuals)</strong></td><td>Convert everyday micro-interactions into $SCAN earnings while retaining full choice over what to share and when.</td><td>Public app release scheduled for iOS and Android.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Enterprises &#x26; Researchers</strong></td><td>Obtain high-integrity, consent-logged datasets tailored to specific model-training or market-insight needs.</td><td>Partnership inquiries: business@scannit.io. Early access to the self-service Quest Portal opens Q1 2026.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Developers &#x26; Integrators</strong></td><td>Leverage Scannit’s data streams and on-chain provenance layer to power new applications, dashboards, or analytics services.</td><td>SDK and API documentation to be released here</td></tr></tbody></table>

Scannit’s community-governed model ensures that every new participant, whether supplying data, consuming it, or extending the platform, feeds back into a transparent, value-aligned marketplace where incentives remain balanced and growth compounds organically.

# The $SCAN Token explained

## The $SCAN Token explained

$SCAN is the coordination and access token of the Scannit Network. It aligns contributors, enterprises, node operators, and developers around a shared marketplace for permissioned, high-quality real-world data.

### What $SCAN powers

#### **1. Payments & settlement**

* Used for dataset purchases, premium APIs, and developer marketplace fees.
* Enterprises may pay in fiat/stablecoins; the treasury converts into $SCAN for rewards, POL (protocol-owned liquidity), and sinks, no price targets.

#### **2. Contributor rewards**

* Validated quest completions and interactions earn $SCAN.
* Higher confidence scores unlock premium quests and multipliers; regional off-ramps (e.g., select stablecoins or gift cards) where permitted.

#### **3. Access staking & bonds**

* Experts, node operators, and certain enterprise/developer actions post $SCAN stakes/bonds to access high-value quests or listings.
* Stakes can be slashed for fraud, policy breaches, or failed attestations.

#### **4. Governance**

* $SCAN holders propose/vote on Scannit Improvement Proposals (SIPs) and can delegate voting power.
* Parameters are set within constitutional guardrails (e.g., fee revenue, RLR (revenue linked rewards) split, POL/burn caps, Node-MRR %).

#### **5. Ecosystem growth**

* Grants, hackathons, dataset bounties denominated in $SCAN to bootstrap new verticals and tooling.
* Disbursements tied to KPI-based milestones and streamed where appropriate.

#### **6. Protocol Owned Liquidity (POL)**

* A portion of revenue-converted $SCAN is paired with stables/SOL and deployed as protocol-owned liquidity on major Solana AMMs.
* LP fees flow back to RLR/treasury per policy; allocations are SIP-governed within published ranges.

Disclosure: $SCAN provides access, coordination, and governance. It does not represent equity, profit rights, or dividends.

## Supply Cap & Emissions&#x20;

**Total Supply & Chain.**\
$SCAN is hard-capped at **1,000,000,000** tokens on **Solana (SPL)**. **No additional mint** beyond this cap under any circumstance.

**What can mint (and when)**.\
There are exactly **two** pre-allocated issuance streams:

1. **Baseline Issuance — 30% (300,000,000 $SCAN).**
   * Cadence: emitted weekly over 15 years.
   * Shape: decays –25%/year in Years 1–5, then –10%/year in Years 6–15.
   * Purpose: bootstrap supply-side (contributors), early ecosystem incentives, and public goods, without overpaying late in the curve.<br>
2. **Node Emissions — 10% (100,000,000 $SCAN).**
   * Cadence: linear stream over 4 years, paid weekly.
   * Weighting: performance-based (uptime, latency, data-integrity attestations, stake).
   * Redemption: released as escrowed $SCAN on a 15/90/180-day curve to discourage fast churn and reward sustained quality.<br>

**No other issuance streams** exist. Prior references to “Market Issuance” are replaced by **Revenue-Linked Rewards (RLR)**, which are **funded from protocol revenue converted into $SCAN** (see “Rewards Mechanics”). RLR **does not mint** new tokens.

### Emissions Autopilot (SIP‑0 Parameters)&#x20;

To align issuance with real demand, **Baseline Issuance can only be throttled down** within pre‑defined KPI bands. This avoids discretionary interventions while protecting contributors and buyers.

**Definitions**

* **Coverage** = (RLR distributed this week) ÷ (Baseline scheduled this week)
* **MRD (Minimum Revenue‑to‑Demand)** = $ billed or credited for datasets per week, relative to token emissions

**Bands & triggers (rolling 4‑week lookback):**

<table><thead><tr><th width="78.81640625">Band</th><th>Condition</th><th width="146.45703125">Baseline setting</th><th>Other levers</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Green</strong></td><td>Coverage ≥ 0.50 and MRD met</td><td>100% of default</td><td>Standard node escrow, off‑ramp caps</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Amber</strong></td><td>Coverage 0.25–0.49 or MRD miss 1–3 weeks</td><td>70% of default</td><td>Heavier weight on 90/180‑day node escrow</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Red</strong></td><td>Coverage &#x3C; 0.25 or MRD miss ≥ 4 weeks</td><td>40% of default</td><td>Maintain caps; remediation plan published on the dashboard</td></tr></tbody></table>

**Notes**: (i) Throttle‑down only, never above the formula schedule. (ii) Changes execute via SIP with on‑chain KPIs; treasury operations remain TWAP‑only, with no price targets and no discretionary buybacks.

### Reward Mechanics: Why $SCAN Beats Cash

*Aligning incentives today while paving a friction-free on-ramp for tomorrow’s Web 2 audience.*

Pure cash payouts sound simple, but they break the feedback loop that makes Scannit’s marketplace work:

* **No stake, no voice**. Cash exits the system immediately; it confers zero voting power over fee tiers, quest standards, or treasury grants.
* **No compounding value**. Fiat does not circulate back into new quests or liquidity pools, limiting network growth.
* **Regulatory baggage.** Cross-border cash disbursements trigger a patchwork of KYC and remittance rules that would slow contributor onboarding.

$SCAN solves these frictions by keeping rewards, governance, and liquidity inside the same economic layer, yet Scannit recognizes that many mainstream users aren’t ready to interact with crypto rails on day one.

<table><thead><tr><th width="224.23828125">Coming feature</th><th>How it works</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Stable-coin bridge</strong></td><td>$SCAN earned in-app can be swapped for major USD-pegged stable coins (e.g., USDC) through a built-in liquidity pool.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Marketplace gift cards</strong></td><td>A curated catalogue of digital gift cards (retail, gaming, utilities) is priced dynamically in $SCAN; settlement happens in-app, delivery via email or QR code.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Progressive cash converts</strong></td><td>High-reputation accounts (verified ID + quality score) will unlock periodic fiat off-ramps once regional compliance gates are in place.</td></tr></tbody></table>

**Bottom line:** $SCAN remains the backbone of contributor rewards and governance, but stable coins and gift-card rails widen the tent, letting Web 2 users participate, learn the value of their data, and graduate to deeper ecosystem roles at their own pace.

# $SCAN Rewards

In the bootstrapping phase, most rewards are paid from the **Baseline Issuance pool**. As Scannit begins generating meaningful protocol revenue, Revenue-Linked Rewards (RLR) increasingly fund payouts, reducing reliance on Baseline and avoiding additional circulating-supply pressure. RLR never mints new tokens: it converts a share of net revenue into $SCAN and distributes it under governed rules. If revenue = 0, RLR = 0.

### Baseline Rewards&#x20;

* **Total supply:** 1,000,000,000 $SCAN (hard-capped).
* **Baseline Issuance**: **30% (300M)** distributed **weekly over 15 years** with decay **–25%/yr in Years 1–5**, then **–10%/yr in Years 6–15** (front-loading growth while preserving long-term incentives).

### Revenue-Linked Rewards&#x20;

* **Source**: governed share of **net protocol revenue** (e.g., platform fees, API/developer fees).
* **Mechanic**: weekly **TWAP conversion** of revenue to $SCAN; **no new mint.**

(Time-Weighted Average Price; splitting conversions into small slices over a 24–72h window to minimize slippage and avoid price targeting)

* **Default split:** **Contributors 50%** / **Node MRR 30%** / **Growth & Grants 20%** (each bucket SIP-tunable within published ranges).
* **Burn policy:** 10% of acquired $SCAN is burned by default (SIP range 0–20%).

### How you earn $SCAN:

Participants can earn $SCAN tokens by actively contributing to the Scannit ecosystem. This can be done by completing quests, uploading data such as receipts and invoices or by integrating personal financial accounts like bank accounts and crypto wallets. Also users can unlock specific expert quests when they verify their expertise. Each valid data contribution earns tokens, with the potential for higher rewards based on the quality and relevance of the data. Users have the option to verify transactions by connecting their wallet or banking account f. ex. via Plaid and proof the accuracy of their provided information.&#x20;

This design was created to increase the quality of the generated data.&#x20;

To maximize your $SCAN earnings, consider these strategies:

* **Regular Participation**: Continuously engage with the Scannit by frequently uploading data, ensuring consistent contributions.
* **Complete Quests and Special Activities**: Scannit offers various quests and activities that provide additional opportunities to earn tokens. Engaging in these can boost your earnings.
* **Quality & reputation**: higher confidence scores and clean reviews unlock premium quests and multipliers.
* **Leverage New Features**: As Scannit evolves, new features and functionalities will be introduced. By staying updated and utilizing these new tools, you can find additional ways to enhance your earnings.

The gradual decrease in token issuance encourages early adoption and sustained engagement, making it beneficial to start early and remain active within the ecosystem to optimize your $SCAN token accumulation.

# Community & Governance

Open governance is a core principle of **Scannit**, supporting the vision of a consent‑based data network where contributors, node operators, and data buyers collaborate to create high‑quality datasets for AI and analytics. The **$SCAN** token empowers participants to have a voice in shaping the network so that decision‑making remains transparent, fair, and community‑driven.

### Governance and Participation

All holders of **$SCAN**, whether earned through participation or acquired on the open market, are invited to take part in Scannit’s governance. Token holders help guide policies, network priorities, and long‑term strategy.

* **Voting Rights**. Governance rights are proportional to token holdings, enabling holders to participate in proposals that affect the network.
* **Decentralized and Fair**. Safeguards are in place to prevent any single party from dominating outcomes, ensuring that decisions reflect a broad set of stakeholder interests.

### Building a Shared, Open Infrastructure

By adhering to open and transparent governance principles, Scannit encourages contributors, operators, developers, and enterprise partners to collaborate in building a shared data infrastructure. This approach fosters trust and cooperation across the ecosystem, enabling participants to collectively improve data quality, coverage, and availability for real‑world use cases.

### Innovation and Flexibility

Scannit’s governance model is designed to support ongoing innovation. Participants are free to propose new quests, data standards, integrations, or community programs that align with their goals. This openness encourages continuous improvement and adaptation so the network can evolve to meet the needs of a diverse, global community.

With **$SCAN**, participants not only earn rewards for creating value; they also gain a say in how the network grows, contributing to the emergence of a decentralized, privacy‑respecting, and secure data marketplace.

### Aligning Incentives

Scannit aligns **contributors, developers, node operators, and data buyers** around $SCAN:

* **Contributors** earn $SCAN for **verified, high-quality submissions**; higher confidence unlocks premium quests and multipliers.
* **Developers & nodes** stake/bond for access and earn from **usage-linked rewards** (RLR) and emissions, with **slashing** for fraud.
* **Enterprises** pay in fiat/stables/$SCAN; revenue is converted to $SCAN for rewards, POL, and grants tying utility to real demand.
* **Governance** lets stakeholders steer fees, splits, and funding **within guardrails**, so value created by growth returns to the ecosystem transparently.

*Scannit is a community-governed network with granular, consent-based data contribution and on-chain accountability, not a promise of price support or profit sharing. $SCAN provides access, coordination, and governance.*

## Token Allocation

$SCAN is the native coordination and access token of Scannit, issued as an **SPL token on Solana** with a **hard-capped total supply of 1,000,000,000. No mint beyond the cap**. (Mint authority disabled or time-locked at/after TGE.)

**Design goals.**\
The allocation prioritizes **community & network growth, long-run sustainability**, and **transparent governance**, while aligning founders, partners, and contributors.

### Allocation Summary

* **DAO Treasury — 63% (630,000,000)**
  * **Airdrop** **— 3% (30,000,000)**: Staged claims to bootstrap early, **action-gated growth** (e.g., quests, referrals, targeted campaigns). **Unclaimed** amounts **revert to the DAO Treasury** after the claim window and may be reallocated to growth initiatives via SIPs.
  * **Community Incentive** **— 40% (400,000,000)**: Funds **long-term network incentives** (e.g., Baseline Issuance and Node rewards as defined in Supply Cap & Emissions and Node Economics). **Rewards are verification-based** and use escrowed release to favor sustained quality.
  * **Treasury & Liquidity — 20% (200,000,000)**: Used for **protocol-owned liquidity** (DEXs), CEX **market-maker inventory/loans**, **grants & ecosystem programs**, and **operational runway**.\
    **Policy**: All Treasury spending requires **DAO approval (SIPs)** and follows constitutional guardrails (TWAP conversions, no price targets, public reporting). POL/CEX inventories are **non-voting** assets.<br>
* **Team — 18.5% (185,000,000)**\
  **Vesting: 12-month cliff, then 48-month linear (monthly)** with standard **bad-leaver clawback**. Aligns incentives with long-term network success and talent retention.<br>
* **Partners & Advisors — 18.5% (185,000,000)**\
  **Vesting: 12-month cliff, then 24-month linear (monthly)**, including KPI-based milestones for strategic advisors and standard **for-cause clawback**. Brings capital, distribution, and domain expertise to accelerate growth.

### Conclusion

The $SCAN token allocation strategy is carefully designed to support Scannit’s initial launch, ensure long-term sustainability, and promote a decentralized, community-driven ecosystem. With 60% of tokens allocated to the DAO Treasury, including the initial airdrop, Baseline Issuance, and future community initiatives, Scannit prioritizes community empowerment and decentralized governance. The 18.5% allocation to the team ensures that the platform benefits from ongoing innovation and dedication, while the 18.5% reserved for capital partners and advisors secures the necessary financial and strategic resources.

This balanced allocation strategy positions Scannit for sustained growth, continuous innovation, and the establishment of a robust, engaged community.

### Pro-Tips for Successful Scanning

To make sure your receipts are accepted and you get your points every time, keep these tips in mind:

* **Capture the whole receipt:** Ensure the store name, date, total amount, and all items are visible.
* **Stay focused:** Blurry images are the #1 reason for rejected receipts.
* **Flat surface:** Lay your receipt on a flat surface to ensure all the data is readable.

\
**Why was my receipt rejected?** The most common reason for a rejection is a blurry photo or missing information. Always double-check that the image is high quality before you hit submit!

#### Keep the Momentum Going!

While our team checks your receipts, why not head back to the map? You can earn even more by completing a few quests.&#x20;

<br>

# How to Verify Quests

Now that you have completed your first quest, let’s look at how to verify other users' submissions. Verifying is a crucial part of the Scannit community and a great way to earn extra points.

Follow these steps to become a top-tier reviewer.

{% columns %}
{% column %}

#### 1. Go to the Verify tab&#x20;

Tap on the Verify icon in the Questboard. This will show you a queue of submissions from other users that are waiting for approval.<br>
{% endcolumn %}

{% column %}

<figure><img src="https://2543732543-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F8uZwPVRGLnusKYVMRvZq%2Fuploads%2FC4Y0fyTrJRrIwrwgXKTo%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=7fba7b55-9464-4be8-97c8-d4275011471f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
{% endcolumn %}
{% endcolumns %}

#### 2. Analyze the submission&#x20;

Before you vote, read the specific quest instructions carefully. Then, look closely at the submitted photo or video. Ask yourself: Has the task been completed? Have the instructions been followed exactly?

#### 3. Watch out for fake or low-quality submissions&#x20;

We want to keep Scannit fair for everyone. Please only approve submissions that have been completed the right way. Be on the lookout for common issues such as:

* AI-generated images
* Photos taken of computer or phone screens
* Blurry or dark images
* Wrong or irrelevant pictures

#### 4. Make your decision

* Approve: If the user followed all instructions.
* Reject: If the submission violates the rules or does not match the prompt.

#### 5. Get your points&#x20;

Your points are credited as soon as the final decision for each quest has been made. You earn points if your decision matches the majority vote of the community. This ensures accuracy and fairness.

#### 6. Disagree with the result?&#x20;

If you believe there has been a mistake in the voting process, you always have the option to dispute a decision. \[Read here how to dispute decisions]

#### 3. Let us handle it&#x20;

Now, all you need to do is wait. Your submission will be escalated directly to one of our **Scannit Admins.** Unlike the standard verification process, this review is done by a member of the official team.

#### 4. Get your points&#x20;

The admin will compare your submission against the instructions. If they approve it, the community decision is overruled, and you will get your points immediately!
{% endcolumn %}

# Dispute a Community Vote

In our [How to Verify Quests guide](/how-to-get-started/everything-quests/how-to-verify-quests), we explained that you earn points for verifications only when your decision matches the community vote. This system ensures everyone takes the time to check quests accurately rather than just hitting "approve" every time.

However, we know that mistakes can happen, after all, we are all human! If you truly believe a community vote was incorrect, you have the option to dispute it.

Follow these simple steps to have an admin review your verification:

{% columns %}
{% column %}

#### 1. Open your Transaction Overview

Tap the **icon in the bottom right corner** of the Scannit app.&#x20;

This will take you to your transaction history, where you can see all your recent activity, including any **declined verifications.**
{% endcolumn %}

{% endcolumn %}

{% column %}

#### 2. Select the Verification

Find the specific verification you believe was handled incorrectly. Tap on it to **open the details.**

<br>
{% endcolumn %}
{% endcolumns %}

{% columns %}
{% column %}

#### 3. Check the Quest Status

Inside the transaction details, you will see the final **Quest Status**. If this status doesn't match the verification you submitted, you won't have received points for it. Review the quest one last time to be sure there wasn't a detail you missed!

#### 4. Tap "Dispute This Result"

If you are still confident that the community vote was wrong, tap the **Dispute this result** button.
{% endcolumn %}

#### 5. Admin Review

Once you submit a dispute, one of our **Scannit admins** will manually check the quest.

If the admin agrees with your assessment, the decision will be overturned, and you will receive your points.

<br>
{% endcolumn %}
{% endcolumns %}

**A Note on Fairness**: Please be honest and fair when using this feature. Only dispute a result if you genuinely believe a mistake was made. Frequent, unnecessary disputes create extra work for our team and slow down the process for everyone!

**Ready to get back to it?** Head over to your transaction history now to see if your recent verifications were a match.
