True Ownership
What is True Ownership?
True ownership goes beyond simply holding legal rights to your data. It means having the ability to fully control how your data is used and complete visibility into its journey within an ecosystem. For ownership to be meaningful, it must empower users with both control and transparency over their personal information.
Control:
Data Management: Users have the ability to fully manage their data, including the power to delete it at any time. This means that users can choose to share or withhold their data, and they can determine which subsets of their data are shared and under what conditions. This level of control ensures that users are always in charge of their digital identity and how it is used.
Selective Sharing: Scannit allows users to specify which parts of their data can be accessed by others. For instance, users can opt to share only certain types of data or allow access to specific data sets only under particular conditions. This granular control over data sharing is a key aspect of true ownership.
Transparency:
Data Usage Visibility: Users are provided with a clear, understandable view of how their data is being used, who has access to it, and for what purpose. Scannit’s AI Agent will offer a visual representation of the user’s data, making it easier for them to track and manage their digital footprint.
Value Awareness: Scannit offers users insights into the potential value of their data. Even if users choose not to share their data, they are kept informed about how much similar data is worth in the market. This transparency empowers users to make informed decisions about when and how to share their data, ensuring they are fully aware of the potential benefits.
By providing both control and transparency, Scannit ensures that users truly own their data in every sense. This approach not only empowers users but also builds trust within the ecosystem, as individuals can see and control the value and use of their personal information.
Community Governed
The governance of Scannit is community-driven, with $SCAN token holders empowered to create and vote on proposals that shape the network's future. These proposals, known as Scannit Improvement Proposals (SIPs), can influence everything from how data security measures are implemented to the introduction of new features that enhance user experience. This democratic approach ensures that the platform evolves in a way that reflects the collective interests of its community, rather than the whims of a central authority.
There are no self-imposed restrictions on what the Scannit community is able to vote on and do. We expect that some key activities will include:
Designing, deploying, and adjusting rewards pools for users and referral bonus programs
Allocating authority and resources to teams and individuals via f. ex. streams, grants, and bounties. This may fund work such as: building decentralized data storage infrastructure; determining the optimal method by which consumer data will be priced and sold; building applications on top of Scannit.
Investing the treasury.
Aligning Incentives
By aligning the interests of users, developers, and data buyers around the $SCAN token, Scannit fosters a collaborative environment where all stakeholders are incentivized to contribute to the platform's growth. This not only accelerates innovation but also ensures that the value created within the ecosystem is equitably distributed among those who help generate it.
In summary, Scannit is more than just another app; it is a decentralized, user-owned ecosystem designed to empower individuals by giving them full control over their digital identities and the data they generate. Through active participation and governance, users can help shape a fairer, more transparent digital future.
